Not quite as commercial or high-profile as nearby Motovun, Grožnjan is another ancient hilltop town with charismatic cobbled streets and solid stone walls wherever you look. Home to various artists, Grožnjan has a dozen or so galleries and craft shops, as well as a few bars and restaurants. Be sure to visit the Truba Jazz bar, which has stylish decor, mellow music and a small balcony with sweeping views over the Istrian countryside.
